It’s that time of year again… 2022 is winding down, and with it, the time to achieve your Goodreads Challenge is quickly coming to a close.
Look, setting a GR goal is just a fun thing to do, and there truly aren’t any consequences for missing the mark (or just adjusting your goal at the last minute 🤫). BUT if you are the type of person who really wants to achieve their yearly book goal and is struggling to get there, this is the post for you! I have some highly recommended classic and contemporary novels you may want to check out.
And the best part? These books are all 250 pages or less! 👀

Now that we’re more than two weeks into the new year (time flies, am I right??), I thought it might be fun to write a post where I talk about the 3 goals I’m hoping to guide my reading practices this coming year.
If you’re wondering, ‘hey Liza, didn’t you already make a post about your new years resolutions?’ Then yes, you’d be right. I don’t really know, but for some reason these 3 goals feel different than my other resolutions, so I wanted to write them their own post. I guess the big difference is that my new years resolutions are specific things I want to do (like reading 50 books in 2021, participating in a readathon, etc.) while these “goals” are more ~intentions~ I want to guide my future reading.
I just feel like the more I get into the habit of reading a lot, the more I want to be thoughtful about the books I choose to read. So, without further ado…

One of the things I love most about joining the online book community is seeing the hype and anticipation for yet to be published works. Before I became a book blogger – and quickly fell down the ARC hole that is NetGalley and Edelweiss+ – I almost never heard about books prior to their release. Most often, I wouldn’t even hear about them until years later!
Now, I regularly hear about incredible titles months before they come out, and boy, does it make me excited! (And increase the size of my TBR tenfold… 😅) Since it’s almost a new year, I thought it’d be fun to look through all the titles I can’t wait to read and list my most anticipated books being published in 2021. 💫

Look, I’ve always been a little hesitant to read holiday-themed books.
It’s mainly because I’m Jewish, and like most people raised in the non-dominant cultural religion, I’ve always been a little hesitant around Christmas time. Don’t get me wrong, I love the holiday season. The pretty lights on every street, everything covered in the picturesque snow, all the hot chocolate and Baileys especially. 🤤 I’ve just always been a little skittish around the Christmas of it all.
But this year, because of Covid-19, it being the first one I’ll be spending away from my childhood home and my parents (but with my partner, luckily), I’ve really embraced the holiday cheer more than ever before. And, in a bid to make my new house feel as home-y as it can this winter season, I’ve really decked the halls, so to speak. 😅

It’s hard to believe, but I’ve already been book blogging for over 6 MONTHS! 😮 I honestly never could have guessed when I first started my blog that I would still be going strong 6 months in. I’ve adored being a book blogger so much that now I couldn’t imagine NOT being one.
But there’s still so much I never could have anticipated when I posted my first blog entry on a whim 6 months ago…
And I’m not talking about making sure you have a review policy, because authors/publishers/promoters WILL contact you – yes, YOU, no matter how small your audience – or making sure to use free stock photos and vectors, because copyright infringement is legit SCARY.
