It’s hard to believe, but 2022 is already here and we are in the midst of it. Meaning it’s time to reflect on the past year and see which of my resolutions I managed to accomplish. 😳
Overall, I think I did pretty well? 2021 was one rollercoaster of a year for me – A LOT went down! Firstly, I finally finished my graduate degree, and with that my career in higher-level education. Secondly, I started my actual career. You know, working in my field, in my dream job no less. So it’s been a bit of a busy time! But in the best of ways, I have to say. 😌
I’m very grateful for how well things turned out for me in 2021. And also really damn proud of myself? I accomplished a lot. 💪

Happy New Year, friends! 🎉 Did you celebrate late into the night? Or did you turn in before the clock struck 12? For the first time in the past couple of years my partner and I actually made it to midnight (🙈)… but that was because we were stuck at the airport waiting to grab our luggage! 😮💨
Yes, I spent New Year’s Eve on an airplane, returning home from a trip to see the relatives. ✈️ I’m so grateful to be able to spend the holidays with my family after not being able to see them for almost two years and missing out on spending the holidays with them last year. 🎄

Hello everyone! How have the past two months been treating you? Did you give out lots of candy during Halloween? Are you excited for the winter-themed drinks at Starbucks, or are you still firmly inhaling your Pumpkin-Spiced-everything? ☕️🍂
Personally, I love fall! I love the colors of the trees, the slight breeze in the air that means it’s time to pack on the fuzzy sweaters and socks, and swapping out iced coffees for warm brews. Fall is just the perfect time to cozy up under a bunch of blankets, a cup of tea in hand, and read a good book – my all-time favorite pastime (unsurprisingly).
And I had a great fall this year – I really can’t complain! I spent the past two months getting used to working full-time after being a student for many, many years. And I gotta say, I really love the freedom that comes with working a typical 9-5 (or, 8-4 if you’re me). I feel like I did a lot during my time off! I hiked, I ate lots of good food, I read a bunch of books… What more could a girl ask for? (Maybe more trick-or-treaters? We only had 5 kids come by this year, and now I have WAY TOO MANY chip bags leftover. 😂)

Hello, world! 🌎
Long time no see! The past two months have been… kind of silent over here on my blog. The main reason for that being that I was up to my neck in ~master’s thesis~ writing, editing, and presenting… and, well, didn’t really have time for much else. That being said, I am OFFICIALLY done school, ✨FOREVER!!! ✨
(I could not be more overjoyed about it.) Don’t get me wrong, I love learning. (It’s one of the reasons I love reading so much!) But the grad school work-your-butt-off-until-it-literally-falls-off culture? I could do without.
But it’s actually, totally ~fine~ because I’m DONE! I’m working now, which is crazy, but true. At my dream job no less and I’m loving it. So, I’m in a really good place right now.

As you may have noticed, it’s been a little quite over here on my blog during the month of June! I’m not going on hiatus or anything like that, but there likely will continue to be a lot less content popping up on my blog for the next little while. And that’s really just because I’ve been very busy – and very focused! – on finishing my thesis!
Because of that I’ve definitely been doing a lot less book reading, and a lot more research article reading! (If only I could count the 200 or so of those I blasted through this past month in my goodreads challenge! 😂) It’s also been a little hard to focus on blog writing when I’ve been so busy thesis writing…
